Which SQL dialects are supported?

The formatter is dialect-agnostic — it uppercases recognized keywords (ANSI SQL plus common DML/DDL) and breaks lines at clause boundaries. It works well for MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server and Oracle.

What gets uppercased?

Recognized keywords like SELECT, FROM, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, etc. Identifiers, strings and comments are left untouched.

Are strings and comments preserved?

Yes. Single-quoted strings, double-quoted identifiers, backtick identifiers, -- line comments and /* block comments */ are tokenized and preserved verbatim.

Does it handle subqueries?

It preserves parentheses and indentation of comma-separated column lists, but does not deeply indent subqueries. The output is readable but not as deeply nested as a hand-formatted query.
