What does the error message show?

When JSON is invalid, the tool displays the parser's error message along with the approximate line and column number computed from the character position.

Can I format very large JSON files?

Yes, up to your browser's memory limit. For multi-megabyte files, expect a brief pause while parsing.

Does it preserve key order?

Yes. JSON object key order is preserved as defined in the spec, and your output will match the input order.

Will it sort keys alphabetically?

Not in this tool — it preserves the original order. Sorting can change semantics for some applications, so we keep the source order.
