What does “Collapse multiple spaces” do?

It replaces every run of two or more spaces with a single space. Use it to clean up text that was copied from PDFs or emails with ragged spacing.

Will my paragraph breaks be preserved?

If “Remove blank lines” is off, blank lines are kept and any run of three or more newlines is collapsed to a single paragraph break (two newlines).

What happens to tabs?

When “Normalize tabs to space” is on, every tab (or run of tabs) is replaced with a single space. Turn it off to keep your tabs intact.

Does it trim the start and end of each line?

Yes — when “Trim line ends” is on, leading and trailing whitespace is stripped from every line. The whole document is also trimmed at the very start and end.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. All normalization runs in your browser. Open DevTools → Network and you’ll see zero requests.
